Liu Sheng (Lo Lieh) ringleader of the Snake Sect, is a great martial artist, who is not only treacherous but also ambitious. He strives to revive the influence of the forgotten “Five Poison Web” party, but the chief of the party is against this idea, because he fears that its revival might throw the country once again into chaos. Liu Sheng has an affair with the ringleader of the Scorpion Sect (Angela Yu Chien), who is also the mistress of the chief. Liu Sheng and this female ringleader spread a rumour to the effect that the secret of the “Five Poison Web” is kept in the Shaolin Monastery, with a view to sounding out the reactions of those interested in possessing it. The rumour soon prompts the Tien Hsuan chieftain to dispatch his pupils, Fei Ying-hsiung (Yueh Hua), his brother Fei Ying-chieh (Wang Chung), and Fan Chiu-hsin (Lily Li) to the Shaolin Monastery to seek the secret of the “Five Poison Web”.
