Sung Ta (Ti Lung) desperately wants a motorcycle to please his girlfriend Yen Wei (Helen Ko), but he lacks the necessary money. When the opportunity arises, he takes part in a savage kung fu tournament, hoping to win the first prize - a motorbike. But he is beaten. He starts to save money. But before he can save enough, he has to use all his savings to pay for damage he causes when he crashes into a store on his friend’s motorbike. Finally, Sung borrows the downpayment for a bike from a loan shark. Sung now owns a motorbike, but loses his girlfriend when they get drenched in a heavy shower. But by this time Sung loves his bike more than his girlfriend. Sung’s happiness doesn’t last long. His motorcycle is stolen, and the loan shark is pressing him for money. He asks the help of the police but to no avail. And the loan shark draws Sung’s blood after he fails to pay the monthly instalment on his debt. But in spite of all this, Sung’s determination leads him to recover his motorcycle. Sung has a problem again. His new girlfriend, Yuan Yu-mei (Cheng Ke-wei)is forbidden by her father to associate with any boy who owns a motorbike. But one day the girl’s brother is taken to hospital after an accident, and Sung is in luck again. He rushes to the hospital with the girl’s father, and they beat the traffic jam on the motorbike. This incident changes the father’s attitude. He agrees to give his daughter’s hand to Sung who decides to give up his motorbike for good.
