Tragic deaths in the underworld cause leader "Yama" (Teng Wei-hao) to suspect a Portrait in Crystal with mysterious powers. He sends Hen Pan (Chen Hung) and Pai Pan (Hung Hsin-nan) to interrogate its creator, martial artist Lung Fei (Pai Piao). Lung's close friend Li Hsiao-tien (Chin Huang) accompanies them. The portrait is missing, and shortly afterwards, Yama's son is killed by "Crystal" (Liu Yu-pu). Yama himself is assaulted by the same creature but manages to poison her with a dart. Lung and Li have meanwhile overpowered Heh and Pai. They encounter the injured Crystal and escort her to Tu Mansion for an antidote, but on the way they lose all trace of her except for a map for Tu Mansion. Li is captured in an ambush and offered in exchange for the map. Heavily wounded, he is rescued by Lung and taken to Tu Mansion for treatment.
Lung learns from Tu's mistress Jih Hau (Chen Szu-chia) that Crystal is in fact a living statue trained as a killer through the magic powers of Lung's portrait which she had stolen. Crystal appears mysteriously to warn Lung to leave, and he witnesses future killers being created. Jih traps Lung for the same purpose, but he is brought to safety by Crystal. Once free, he is attacked by his friend Li who has already been brain-washed, but Li dies in a trap. Yama leads his men in a raid on Tu Mansion. He is killed, while Jih Hau is fatally hit by a poison dart. Before her death, she orders the activation of the explosive traps in the Mansion, but they are switched off just in time. Lung must finally confront the real villain behind these events: Tien Ti (Wang Jung), who recently bought himself a princely title and had himself arranged all the killings to conceal the illegal activities of his present and his past.
