A petty thief with an attitude, Ho whiles away his time at the brothel until he comes across Wang(Gordon Liu),a wealthy dignitary travelling incognito, who dupes him into parting with his gold. Understandably displeased,Ho confronts Wang with his kung fu, but Wang seems miraculously untouchable despite his apparent weakness. Moreover, he consistently manages to trick Ho into being the one thing he’d never expect – a better person.
What Ho doesn’t realize, but is quickly becoming apparent, is that Wang is no mere wandering salesman. He’s a master of the martial arts, but he chooses to keep that a secret. So do the assassins sent to kill Wang, who wish to accomplish their task without drawing suspicion. This leads to all sorts of remarkable and frequently hilarious kung fu clashes, in which superficial bumbling and politeness conceal spectacular fighting techniques. Techniques that Ho soon learns, and when he finds himself and Wang back to back against a horde of enemies, he’ll have to use them all!
